Petta is an independent, small-team project. This policy explains what information the app collects, why, and what control you have over it. If anything here is unclear, email support@petta.mk and ask.

1. Information we collect

Account information: display name, email address, and the phone number and home city you optionally add. A profile photo, if you upload one.

Pet information: everything you enter for a pet's profile - name, species, breed, date of birth, microchip ID, breeding notes and pedigree notes, medical records, and any photos or videos you upload.

Lost & found reports: the location, species, breed, color and description you provide when reporting a lost or found pet, and the approximate location used to show nearby reports on the map.

Messages and calls: the content of chats you send through the app, and connection metadata needed to place a video/audio call.

Usage data: basic technical logs (e.g. request timestamps, error reports) our server keeps to operate and debug the app.

2. How we use it

To run the features you use directly: pet profiles, the social feed, breeding requests, lost & found search, chat, and calls. We do not sell your data or use it for advertising profiling beyond the in-app ad placements you already see.

3. Who we share it with

We use a small number of service providers to run Petta:

• Firebase (Google) for account sign-in and photo/video storage.
• LiveKit Cloud for video/audio call connectivity.
• Our hosting provider, which runs the API and database.

These providers process data on our behalf under their own security commitments; we don't sell or share your data with anyone else.

4. About message security

Messages are sent over an encrypted connection (HTTPS/TLS) between your device and our servers, the same way your bank or email traffic is protected in transit. They are currently not end-to-end encrypted, meaning they are stored in a form our server can technically access - so please avoid sending highly sensitive information (like passwords or financial details) over chat. We're working toward end-to-end encryption for a future version.

5. Location data

Location is only used when you create a lost/found report or search the map, and only at the precision needed to show relevant nearby results.

6. Your rights

You can view, export, or permanently delete your account and its data at any time from Settings > Data Rights in the app. Deletion removes your account information, pet profiles, posts, and messages from our systems.

7. Children

Petta isn't intended for children under 16. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we'll remove it.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the app changes. We'll update the date at the top when we do.
